There is a TON of great information available on BP, such as the 4 part video series, "The Financial Independence Blueprint".

After doing a quick market research of rents in our area, yes, there are a couple of homes (literally-there are so few homes available here) that are in the price range that he mentioned but they do not have the upgrades and they are in crappy school districts, however we are just under the median for prices in our city.  

That said, if you do have enough assets available, you may have luck finding small local banks that will provide a loan based on just that.

It's great to make money anywhere, and if the #s work then wonderful.However, you will have to sell at some point, and it sounds like the pool of available buyers is going to be small.

There are a lot of options available but I am not sure how to narrow down my search.
