With two years left on my contract I've decided that i'm done with being an employee forever.

Id say its not that common industry wide, we just have minimums since we cant carry dead weight with all the employees we have working here.  

I'm curious if anyone has either set this up, or has any thoughts or criticism on this plan.  I want to open a Roth IRA for my daughter and pay her according to her age (5) and abilities (mulching property and washing...

Consequently the new measures are not applicable.The irony of the situation is the work force in many sectors - do in part to loosening of regulations and declining role of unions - has transitioned from one of "employees" to one of self-employed contractors.  

Agree with @Chris LopezWJS article this past week talked about WallStreet firms moving away from the East and West coast to places like Denver - and bringing many employees and jobs with them.The quote the stuck with me was from a San Francisco 'transplant' that said something like "People in Denver complain about prices, but compared to San Fransisco - Denver is a bargain."

I am not uniformed but a civilian government employee with a TSP.

From grocery store cashier to pizza delivery, and the deeply noble position as an electronics employee with Wal-mart.

Crime has gone way down according to the police and very candid utilities employee I shook down near a house I was looking at.

I have a friend that runs a small business with employees.  

I was always tired and eating cheeseburgers and trying not to get ripped off by vendors, employees, landlords and other food trucks.
