My wife and I had been been self-employed for years and we wanted to move to a different part of the country. 

I am looking for advice from members with experience on moving large amounts of capital into the country in the most cost effective way.

I don't know where exactly this is but there is almost nowhere in the country that you can buy a duplex for $50,000 that won't need at least some repairs up front.

And nothing from that book exists in my country I'm in Australia and none of my banks have lease options or fha loan etc.

@Zach Talke If you're considering both Boston, MA and Austin, TX, I'm going to take a wild guess and say weather doesn't matter all that much to you - or maybe you haven't thought that part through.I'm Boston born and have lived in eastern MA all of my life. 

I do it for Investors around the country frequently.

There have been a lot of reports about rising inventory across the country including Las Vegas and Henderson.

From my read of the post, it sounds to me like the guy does his own management, is going to be out of the country for a while and wants someone on the ground to watch over things while he's gone.
