It sounds like a good way to start in real estate, I just wanted to double check if this is legit?

My name is Elliot and I'm currently a NYC resident and i would like to ask for guidance on where to start investing in NYC i would like to invest in a multifamily unit here in NYC but the prices are a bit high.

That being said i am scared the judge will throw this out and I will have to start over.

A seller finance deal you might be able to negotiate, "We'd like to put 5% down and do interest only payments the first year, and then start regular payments."  

My wife and I have been investing in the stock market for retirement for years and we are hoping to diversify our investments by getting started in real estate.
