I'm glad to see another military person on the site...we are growing daily.  

I have about an 1 1/2 hours to read on this commute, daily. 

.- Daily adjustments- and list can go on but you get my point.My gain.- Home everynight- Spend more time with the family- Watch my kids grow up- Not having to travel to work and be gone for 28 days in the middle of the ocean.- Less dangerous job.I will be walking away from my 250k year job in June of 2015 to follow my dream.

I'm fairly new here and to REI as well, but I'm impressed by the resources BP has to offer (the podcast makes my daily commute now something that I look forward to)

Ideally I was looking to invest not far from the house, so I could check on it daily, to ensure deadlines were being met.I was pretty confident in all of that since I did it for our house.
