However, a few tax advisers (some famous, like Gary Sutton) consider purchasing real estate properties (a tax advantaged asset) within a SDIRA (a tax advantaged account) a bad proposition, on the idea the two of them nullify each other and lose the tax advantages (like depreciation).Therefore, I'm looking for people with experience with SDIRA's and using them for real estate investing - is it a good strategy or not?

Problem is finding a licensed contractor who won't nit pick and/or bad mouth the previous contractor because you didn't use a licensed guy in the first place.

other than for rental purposes we are cutting way back on flipping for retail.we are concentrating on ground up.. less competition more certainty in cost to build.I am done tearing into a 100 year old house only to discover bad things.

I could lease purchase both home and land for the same 900 for 120 payments.If I needed an out, I could sell to another investor, but it would likely be at the same price or less depending on how quickly I need it out.The question you asked does make me realize how it could put me in a bad spot if I needed to sell.
