Good afternoon!

My name is John K. Eck, I am a Captain in the US Army and have 10 years of military service. I am new to Real Estate Investing and currently own one single family rental in Colorado Springs which was previously my primary residence while stationed in Colorado.

I became extremely interested in REI from my wife's aunt and uncle who also live in the COS area and have been investing in RE for many years, and have done very well for themselves. After countless conversations with them I began reading REI books in my free time to begin building my knowledgebase.

I finally decided to join BiggerPockets after months of watching BP videos on YouTube and reading article after article from BP and many other sources.

My main goal from REI is to be build a large enough RE portfolio, while finishing my military career, for my wife and I to become financially independent allowing us to focus solely on REI after my retirement.

The podcasts and articles on this platform are incredibly helpful. Now that you're active on the forums, you'll find that there are people on here that are JUST as helpful. Its a great place to continue to build your knowledge base as well as build the team of professionals you'll need to reach your REI goals.

I'd advise you to set up keyword alerts (click the little bell at the top right corner next to your profile picture) so that you're aware anytime a forum post mentions a topic/area of interest.

Also... attend local events and meet your dream team in person!
