Welcome to landlording ..........this is the stuff that will have you thinking about retiring early if you do this long ehough...........I've been doing this for longer than I can remember and while I think I have seen it all and are pretty good at sizing up deadbeats.......they still slip through even to this day........

As long as it is a solid surface you would be able to park a vehicle or camper, trailer,  on the slab if you wanted to.That size slab wasn't cheep to put in, ugly it still has value.I'd just plain not think about it and leave it as is until you decide to change it over into a car port, shed, or put a fence around it.

I looked into this and FHA will allow this, also the new granny flat laws just went into affect for california allowing "accessory dwelling units" on SFR lots sized up to 50% the square footage of the primary residence.
