I recently read a short article (link below) about Airbnb petitioning the government that the company and its hosts should be treated as the hotel industry and included in any disaster relief - couldn't agree more given Airbnb's awful cancellation strategy overriding hosts default settings.https://www.phocuswire.com/Airbnb-asks-for-government-support?

It is very similar to the regular flu so the cure is to hydrate, manage your symptoms, keep your fevers low, eat well, sleep well and let our amazing bodies take care of it.The hysteria is interesting but I am no longer shocked by it as I have witnessed a few snow storms since moving here and the reaction is very similar.

Christopher Wilchensky Investing in Fundrise / other similar areas

I requested a Redemption of my funds from fundrise back in January and they won't release them. Here is what they said:Fundrise Advisors, in our capacity as Manager of the eREITs and eFunds, has determined that it is necessary at this time to suspend the processing and fulfillment of redemption requests. While under normal market conditions, we seek to provide investors with the ability to redeem their investments on a regular basis, during times of financial crisis or extreme uncertainty, it is absolutely critical that we suspend redemptions in order to protect the interests of all our investors. As Manager, we have an obligation to make decisions based upon what is best for the entire Fundrise investor community and must always put the priorities of the whole above any one individual.Fundamentally, Fundrise investors own real property, which is simply not liquid.

Heather O. Is the Pandemic affecting your business? No trolls please
14 April 2020 | 63 replies
A 5-day booking scheduled to check in tomorrow just cancelled, so I'm out 5 days of revenue with almost zero hope of rebooking. While I'm all for people being responsible about their travel plans, I'm not all for hosts getting hosed - if AirBNB wants to play travel insurer, they should do it with their money, not mine. This is one of many reasons I'm glad my STRs have fat margins, because if this goes on for long there's going to be belt-tightening happening!
