The basement acts as a 3 bed/ 1 bath apartment with it's own full kitchen, laundry and a separate entrance through the garage.

The kitchen and bathroom was horrible. 

In order for me not to be nauseous I have to have my window open with a fan pulling air out with the a/c always on .

In the living room they had a window AC unit, but it didn't drain properly and damaged a good 4'x8' section of the hardwood as well as the subfloor.

If you find out they're cramming potato peels into a kitchen sink or the bathroom drain is full of Q-tips, then you would pass the charge on to your plumber.

New kitchens and baths.

Instead of central air and heat, consider window AC units.  

So I've discovered that my condo in Long Beach, CA has termite damage in the kitchen cabinets.
