Also, bear in mind that the down payment on a property in say Florida is almost as high as the price of an entire property in Mexico.Many North Americans still don't have the cash available but they have plenty of available equity in their homes, especially right now.

I'm an American permanent resident, soon to be a citizen, so would have to pay taxes here.

I'm not about giving out free handouts, but the other option is a HUGE Swath of Americans living in rented rooms, or (non-existent at the moment) Slum housing (like they used to).These places are not typically getting gyms, or pools with Jacuzzi's, but may have a dog walk (clean up after your pooch), and habitable interiors with working things (hot water, heat, stove, fridge, lights, etc...) and professional management that specializes in this demographic.Good luck on building these places, just remember, the people who move in are usually from the same area, and want to "Stay Put" near their favorite shops and relatives, and near the bus route (to Work)...so putting them in Beverly Hills with shops they cannot afford, or at the edge of town with nothing around might make them a lot less attractive to the renters (cutting into your profits deeply). 

They pay me with Venmo, PayPal, zelle, chime and good ole fashion cash.

My concern is that most Americans aren't used to doing laundry this way and may write the unit off much as if it didn't have a W & D. 

I loved being a Soldier for 24 years and I have more freedom than 95% of Americans.

So they threw the bait out there again, hoping I bite and don't pay it back within the 12 months so they can rake in the money on interest like they do on millions of Americans.
