Say I did this method 5 times and successfully have 5 properties with 200k + my initial capital (110k), what happens from here? 

I got my initial questions answered for the most part, but now that I am exploring the option of REI with that money it just brings up a whole other level of questions. 

I would explore that closely.   

I also use the old school method and drive around a look for “For Rent” signs and call the owners and see if they have any properties they are interested in selling.

We bought a single unit and have held for over ten years, but are now looking to expand our portfolio at this point and exploring all options. 

In parallel I've been learning about the general REI strategies out there.I have two rentals that i bought a few years ago but knowing what I know now, i prob wouldn't have bought them due to using traditional buying methods.  

I too am leaning toward the Lauraville area but also still looking explore more of the areas around Hamilton, like Waltherson, Morgan Park, Belgrave, Cedmont. 

Please find one who is not afraid to explore the downside dangers with you--one who wants to help you buy five houses and not just one--one who is doing enough business to not ever send any sales pressure your way.
