The 1x6 (or 1x8) planks boards are usually better to nail into and is a much more rigid structure/support.When the roof is repaired, or mainly replaced, any of those support boards that are broken, cracked, split etc, are replaced! 

Maybe they have multiple lease violations or four dogs or six broken-down cars in the parking lot.

Some of them are broken and do not slide, lock, or insulate properly.

We have not broken ground at this time.

So I put a whole new front door on aswell as a screen door. 4 days later is complaing about the back door and now is broken because she broke the glass pulling it open.
