Rumor was that Boston had more than 3000 illegal listings before Dec 1.At least now, Massachusetts state regulators are sending the city of Cambridge the names and addresses of all Cambridge hosts so that it will be easier to track down the hosts who have illegal listings.

I will research it further, but have you heard of that, or is it just a rumor?

The rumor mill here in chicago is certainly churning here about these guys.

We have a really hot market right now, but rumors are that there are a lot of lay-offs on the North Slope and the State of AK is having budget problems as well.

If it's not written down somewhere that you can read (and understand) it, then it only exists as a rumor. 

In the 70s and 80s it wasn't uncommon for owners to burn their buildings to the ground at least that is the rumor... many buildings did in fact burn to the ground and believe it or not, some are still sitting there just as a shell.

A recent rumor was that the Class A properties can only max out at 65% to 85% capacity each year.  

Rumor is that the State of California is working out how to open our own banking system.
