Renting, like hiring an employee, taking on a business partner or client and marring (even more so), are relationships that can be costly if made hastily or imprudently.Like others, I have check lists that I do not deviate from. 

I will be serving a 10 day notice of non-payment of rent and read partial payments could be accepted without waiving right to terminate if the agreement is made in writing.

In a last ditch effort I sold my personal home and made about $200k from the equity. 

Something to consider, if you haven't made a decision yet, are intangibles.

One mistake I made was thinking that they knew what I wanted.

I've heard podcasts with them bragging about all the money they made in the last 6 months buying apartments.
