The place was updated by us worth new floors, granite countertops etc.

Might be too far south for you, but we've used Princess marble & granite (Burnsville), and Leon's in Bloomington, with great results.

This week paint, replacing doors, install kitchen counter top granite and a bunch of other misc items. 

Kitchen includes Granite counters, Tile backsplash & stainless steel appliances.

Beautiful finishes including updated kitchens with granite counter tops, stainless appliances, vinyl plank and tile flooring and large balconies on both north and south sides.

I've also been able to differentiate the price points between cookie cutter remodels with the standard stainless/granite finishes compared to those with finer details, wainscoting/crown/carrera baths etc.

You can't go into each unit and put in granite counter tops, tile & hardwood flooring, etc...

Premium such as granite would not do well here. 

This is a high end home in a 500-700K neighborhood, and it has granite counter tops and stainless appliances.I was thinking of getting those nicer appliances since it goes with the existing higher end appliances (largely for when I rent the place out, since it is a higher end rental, I personally am fine with the mid grade ones to save a buck), though they cost about $1,500 total vs. $1,000 out the door with all the items needed for setup of the mid grade ones.

Granite countertops, for both increasing the rent & the durability.
