I have traveled the country and there are only a handful of places I would rather live and all of those places (Santa Barbara, Malibu, SD, etc) are extremely expensive so they will have to wait for retirement.

I don't know Mitch, and have not read his book, but it sounds like a good read.Actually, I want to buy it now that I've read these comments...not to learn about RE, but just for the story.I don't think there is a problem with someone driving 4 hours (plus paying for the hotel and travel BS) to speak and tell his/her story, and share solid info, and at the end of it say "oh, BTW, I do have a product if you are interested" as long as that product is not overhyped, and it's valuable.I flew out to Santa Barbara to speak about lease options, and although the trip ended up costing me about $1200, (I sold SQUAT!!)

However, if your going to talk real estate the "Shark" I would talk to is Barbara Corcoran...she is a real estate mogul that turned $1000 into a multi-million dollar real estate firm before venturing into other business investments.Having said that...I think it is always a good time to invest in real estate.
