My guess is that this is simply a company that is willing to meet the $5,000, $6,000 or $10,000 price tag for delivering a buyer so they get promoted  You are the real product in this transaction, not the house.Now, I do not know how many houses each referral company out there owns with each vendor, if any, they are pushing

If the attorney hasn't seen such a letter cross his/her desk, he might take action against you, instead, and make disposal of the property a protracted affair.I would push for a letter from the heirs (or the estate attorney stating that all remaining property is your to do with as you wish.

It's likely the parents that are pushing for the longer stay and the kids would probably be happy to have an excuse not to host them for 6 months.

I'm much the same in that I don't want to deal with poor areas or heavy work to rehab/flip/rent...but most of the SFH's in decent areas are pushing $225,000 to $275,000, with maximum rents of about $1800 to $2000.
