My guess is that this is simply a company that is willing to meet the $5,000, $6,000 or $10,000 price tag for delivering a buyer so they get promoted You are the real product in this transaction, not the house.Now, I do not know how many houses each referral company out there owns with each vendor, if any, they are pushing.

If the attorney hasn't seen such a letter cross his/her desk, he might take action against you, instead, and make disposal of the property a protracted affair.I would push for a letter from the heirs (or the estate attorney stating that all remaining property is your to do with as you wish.

I'm much the same in that I don't want to deal with poor areas or heavy work to rehab/flip/rent...but most of the SFH's in decent areas are pushing $225,000 to $275,000, with maximum rents of about $1800 to $2000.
