As far as banks/credit unions vs. mortgage brokers, the rates should be comparable but you likely have a relationship with a local lender which should help your case.

I hope he is your ex pm and you have advised him as a client of his he has a fiduciary relationship and his word and acts might have some consequences when you contact the Alaska department of real estate, if property managers are required to be licensed in Alaska.
