I think it's more than generous to let him come back and get his belongings before throwing it out.

Since we will not have the time to actively pursue real estate investments  during this period, what are tips on staying engaged in the market and ready to roll once he returns home?

If he chose to verify my responses before signing, he could have easily done so using the financial statement HE CREATED for me months prior as part of my year-end tax planning session.  15 minutes was probably generous.  ;-)
