@Joe Norman, Yes I agree that the clause is in most lending  documents, But in 20 years I have never heard of a residential lender doing so or even attempting to do so.

I would not recommend you attempt to self manage unless you have the time to quickly respond to inquiries & guests and make sure you are professionally & comprehensively handling all of the things I mentioned in the #2 option AS WELL as have a very good dependable local team in place to help with the property maintenance.Good luck in your new venture!

These last two options are attempts to recover the money the second mortgage holder has invested, although they are rarely undertaken (particularly in a weak housing market)

After reading some posts, I've decided to join in an attempt to gain more knowledge in real estate investing and eventually buy more properties.

The regular home inspection then starts currently at 11 but I'm attempting to move it up to 10:30.

Too many new investors want to call every broker in town and attempt to source deals and having little to no experience will not get you very far.

These are young, able bodied adults and the husband is sitting at home all day.

Only after researching the market, reading books, asking a million questions, and working with a few contractors would I attempt it.

I would probably attempt to GC the home myself as I do have alot of subcontractor contacts and could do some of the work myself (electrical, trim carpentry, flooring, painting, cabinets and all "puchout" tasks).Even with a post this long, I'm sure there are alot of factors I've left out.
