(The last words of real estate investors in 2008) Also, with this approach assuming the market doesn't tank, you can usually refinance off PMI in 1 year, if you are house hacking and then get decent cash flow.In general, the Salt Lake market is not slowing down anytime soon.

Let me give you some color about myself, financials and rentals units: Prior to US as a family of five we were renting 200 square feet storage since that was the only thing we could afford.

Then figure out what you want to allocate to the different strategies (core, core plus, value added, opportunistic), capital stack types (equity, debt), asset type (Multi family, retail, office, self storage, hotel, etc).

I have invested in syndicated real estate in the past as well as owning a storage unit facility. 

As you all know the market tanked around that time and I ended up losing the house.
