Seems like you shouldn't design your entire business communication system around the idea of being ANONYMOUS.

It's up to whatever all of the parties agree is fair.

There has been no communication between me and the buyer's broker.

You do 6-7 of these, and you've got a fairly healthy monthly income.

I too used them to get a 25k loan @ 9% to be paid back over 3 years...fairly easy to do if credit is good (can use for rehab).

It does seem more fair that the price be split but that is how the system works for now so we might as well use it as it is.Plus, in the long run, the buyer pays their share of the commission anyway.

There has been a fair amount of new SFH & large multi construction.

You make a valid point and I did think about getting an additional bid but 1) we have a good long history with this guy and he's always been very fair, 2) the hole in the kitchen floor constituted an emergency in my book and 3) with the tornadoes, finding new contractors is a real problem right now.

Though I spent a fair amount of time researching on the use of "earcons" back in my {under} graduate days {when they were not common at all} I personally find most devices and interfaces too chatty these days ;-)

I am fairly new to BP and am so excited to have found a community to grow with as we consider delving further into this type of investment.
