If you are rocking a spiffy, clean, and trendy $1,000 (or even $1,250) per month rental it can fly off the shelves.

If I get more than $200k out from the delayed financing, can I still claim the $100k from A was used for the purchase of B and thus deduct the interest on A?

Personally I would take option B and continue to drive the 240k mile truck.

Cheaper way,  install higher end rugs that will match decor  and color schemes.It will help, not only on the floor noise but overall noise .As a contractor, if you do the sound board in ceiling below then just install it over the sheet rock and install a new layer of sheet rock.
