You probably already know this but you can purchase up to a 4 unit with your VA benefit.

Many investors build a nice portfolio of income properties and then draw off the rental income for distributions to themselves.Comparing income derived from IRA distributions to income derived from real estate investments made personally does not apply.  

I've been contemplating the benefits of hard money loans myself.

Insurance is as much about protecting you and your assets as it is for the benefit of the customer.

Depending on how many family members are involved and how many apartments you need, you could still potentially benefit from the other apartments.
