I read forums, and books but i feel like even once i get enough money saved up that i dont know what ill need to do then?

I guess I've always wanted to get into real estate, my mother worked for a Broker here for many years and I would always get great advice from him, or books to check out!

Of course, you can always find your way and read books about real estate but I appreciate having a mentor or someone to coach me through some of the first deals.  

Brandon - I've read the beginner's guide and similar books over the past year, great information there.

I also want to thank J Scott for his how to flip book because that is what I'm using to get my first flip done with.

Stay committed to learning about the business and I don't think you can go wrong.I suggest reading through the forums like a mad man, reading all the real estate investing books you can get your hands on, and setting realistic goals you can work towards.

I don't have any experience in real estate except for head knowledge from books.

I believe I've got a possible partner in the making for what I believe is called a rehab and hold type deals, and I told him I would get him and me the Bigger Pockets flipping book, but is this best resource for this type of deal?

I'm also a big fan of John Grisham books :) It's always awesome to have new guys here with some good specific knoweldge - in your case, taxes!
