If they show up at hearing with a picture of missing door judge might throw out case make you refile or worse.  

If you see the joints separating or signs that they're shifting around, it means a bad repair.If you can get a wider picture, we may be able to determine if that cross brace should be there, if it should be scabbed or removed and if your can fix this yourself or should hire a structural engineer.

If you do proceed - make yours the nicest in your price range, get professional pictures, spend the $ marketing on VRBO, Flipkey, HomeAway and list with Airbnb.

I agree with @Matt R.and @Bob Bowling... you should consider total profitability (cash flow + appreciation), not just cash flow and not just appreciation, but the entire picture.

Since they only moved in last week and this is the first time i've dealt with this type of situation I cant give you the full picture but I think it can be profitable.
