If I was paying someone, I'd let them keep whatever food is left in the STR. 

There are food pantries around every corner, outreach programs ready and eager to help, philanthropic aid organizations with remarkably robust resources, and then there's the locals.

Food, clothing, and shelter are human NEEDS. 

Providers of Food for Stray Animals and Wildlife.

They trashed the floors (carpet & LVP), damaged the washing machine & dishwasher ; trashed the deck stairs risers; poop in yard; trashed one bathroom vanity, left tons of their clothes, fridge & pantry closets full of food, didn't maintain the yard, deck stair risers were damaged. 

Also, look into businesses with low barriers to entry that you can do on the side, such as food truck of some sort, maybe have a partner.
