I started in the RE game by helping my father Property Manage and fix up our family owned duplex when I was a young man.

I already own 1 and am looking to purchase a second, but do not want to have all of my cash tied up for too long.

First, solely for rental income (best rental yield) as first priority and capital appreciation as second priority.  

I also held a real estate broker license in Texas for about 30 years but I never did that full time.Part of that reason was from my father's commercial real estate experience at that time and my college degree gave me the ability to get it if you qualified for it and in Texas you go strait to a broker license. 

You go to Attorney B for a second opinion - and she says the exact opposite of the first one.

I second the David Birdsong suggestion.

After I've got one under my belt depending on funds left I'll either keep it in the stock market or maybe do financing for a second property.2) Finance between 2 and 3 properties. 

The second question (which probably should have been the first question) is.....

My intention was to eventually fix it up, buy a second house, then rent this one out.Well it's time.I've already put an egress window in my basement (it's finished) so it can be used as a bedroom (there's a closet and full bath down there too).

Own one home and just signed on a second for a tiny profit.
