I don't think others reading your post realize that SF is 80 miles away and a totally different market.I'm looking in the Sacramento / Stockton and surrounding areas.

Account Closed I agree with @Aaron Montague but would recommend you connect with some people on BP living in that market to give you some sense of the surrounding neighborhood.

Recently I drove by one house that looked not so great compared to the surrounding houses on the way to look at a FSBO.

In regards to repairs, it looks like the house can use paint through out, kitchen decent - I'd just paint those cabinets - flooring, and both the baths look like they need new vanity, mirror, floor and general clean up (can't tell what the tub and surround need).I hope you don't think I'm being too tough on you.

I know for sure two guys in our group that are looking for rentals in the counties surrounding baltimore.

I am really looking in the surroundings area to invest also.

How large is the surrounding rural area?

lol If all goes well i'll be getting netting $200 profit a month… too early to tell but all signs point to this not being an issue.Next… continue to learn as much as possible, learn more about the market in my new hometown and surrounding areas, see how my current rental goes, and find the best deal possible in the best location and buy another.
