If the number is not matching, you may need to adjust your search area or home specification.

Just began my search, but finding that in many areas the amount I would charge in rent would not meet my monthly costs or barely match it.Does anyone have any recommendations on neighborhoods or cities in LA county where I'd be able to at minimum comfortably cover my monthly costs with rental charge?

I am in a unique situation than most in that I am still uncertain of where I will be moving but a good possibility it may be somewhere in the Bay Area because I am still waiting to see where I match for residency in March. 

However, did you consider asking Travelers to match Auto-owners coverage?

Since we are between tenants, I figured I'd take their move out inspection and have an enjoyable weekend patching and fixing up the place myself - besides, I filled all the nail holes and little dings, then painted it with matching paint and made sure it all blended it, I doubt the PM's painter would be nearly that perfectionist.  

Have you had to update your strategies to find properties which match your investing criteria? 

This is the best I could come up with to match family goals, short of just sitting on the money.
