If the title is not on the LLC name you have no protection.

How can I protect my interest in this deal if everything is in his name, maybe I’m missing something.How would I profit from the flipping side and cash out while still using it as a rental property?

Title insurance protects the buyer and lender against any mistakes that the title company made in the event someone pops up later making a claim against the property.

@Ron AlexanderUltimate asset protection, have a SERIES LLC, with each property in a separate series.

Give yourself more credit.And why categorize yourself publicly in such a way?

You can also consider somewhere on the west but south side that has good public transportation.

@Brian Christensen Unless the land is extremely valuable, your likely better off building a duplex, which will be significantly cheaper per ft2 than a 4-plex, due to different building code and fire protection regulations.
