My thoughts on best bang for the buck on the interior are paint (standard light khaki color), granite counters in kitchen/bathrooms, tile floors in kitchen/bathrooms, new hardware in kitchens/bathrooms, new doorknobs throughout.The home is 3000+ sq ft so I'm debating on whether it's worth it to upgrade the windows and do some of the larger cap ex items which are nice to haves but are perhaps afterthoughts in terms of selling the home.

Weight is determined by color, size, and any other visual cue that attracts the eye path.  

However; engineered wood (not laminate) can be refinished too, and is more consistent in coloring and finish I'm told.

Our homes include Energy Star Ratings, Energy Star Stainless Steel Appliances, Granite, Hardwoods, Basic W/W Carpet, Marble Vanity Tops, Full Tiled Shower Stalls or Tubs, Moen Faucets, Level 4 Finish on the Drywall, 1 Color Paint, Standard 3.25 Trim, 2 Panel Doors, Bronze Hardware, Manuel Garage Doors, Architectual Shingled Roof w/ Vinyl Siding and Stone Knee Wall, Comfort Maker HVAC System and Bradford White Water Heaters with Pex Manifolds, 1 Standard Sump Pump.Note: Keep in mind we are building 2,500+ sqft homes.

:-)I'm actually pretty fortunate to have a full head of hair that doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon...though the color is slowing draining from it. 

I just rolled it on the subfloor before the carpet was laid.Make sure to wear a (good) mask; sealants, paints, etc emit strong fumes!
