Well I bought the home in the summer and when my new tenant turned on the funace in the winter he ended up vomiting all over the home because the smell was so bad coming out of the furnace.

Oh, and by the way, they had recently passed a "no rental" rule as well since someone didn't like the smell of someone else's cooking and that person happened to be a renter.

And landlord DOES file, it DOES go to court, but tenant in time has been looking for a new place because it's just too much, they dealt with the mice, and drafty everything, and the weird smell that started a week after move in, and the - and the- and the but this whole heat issue was the breaking point.
