They do have sales tax on all items including groceries, as well as taxes on rental cars, hotels, gasoline and a $40 departure tax to leave the country.

I'd keep taking applications,, if they default how you going to go after them.. if your a small operator let him rent from a big boy landlord.. or keep staying at the hotel.

If you have a lot of competitors and they seem to have excess availability, run for the hills.Also maybe call a hotel and try to book holiday weekends in advance.

Long Beach is one voting session away from capping un-hosted units to only 1,000 units for the whole city, increasing the taxes for all AirBnB hosts to hotel tax rates, allowing only 90 days per year for renting out the entire house for hosted units, and giving neighborhoods the right to petition that their neighborhood be blocked out from AirBnB.
