I live on Long Island but unfortunately the market here is through the roof, which forces me to look elsewhere.

Also, anyone that is landing one of every 20 deals they analyze is probably overpaying for many of them. 

I own a 2BR condo on Okaloosa Island and 5BR SFR in Destin, and they both perform well.

Looking for a short term rental owner in the Grand Lake, OK area (specifically Monkey Island, Dripping Springs, or Duck Creek areas) to bounce a few ideas off of.

It is a 2nd or 3rd world country.Need to be careful on ownership.There is no market to sale so you have to make your profit coming in.If your looking at San Pedro or Ambergris Caye I would spend a lot of time researching utility infrastructure for the whole island. 

I mostly would like to speak with someone about how they determined which islands they considered investing in and which islands they ruled out and why?

That single bridge over to the island can be a nightmare.

Now to kit it out~We are a block from the beach on the barrier island and I plan on a long lasting finish for my furniture, probably mango wood.
