my mother-in-law passed and she had a house in questa that we had to do something with; her dad built this thing and you can imagine the sentimental value on that. 

I live near a nursing school and was thinking about doing a house hack \ student rental type of thing where I rent by the room but I was wondering how I would go about advertising the property?

Since that's usually a bigger job, it's usually easier to find someone to do that than for a repair call.It does sound like a crappy situation, but as my mother is fond of saying, "it could always be worse".

It has 5 rooms; 2 of the rooms are in the mother in law guest suite with its own private entry.

I’m either going to rent out all the rooms for her to traveling nurses which pay more in my area, or wholesale the property which I’ve never done before.

I have a client that owns a house, but after the big flood we had here in '16, she moved out of that house to go help her mother rebuild from the flood. 

@Brandon Roof it’s weird how it flooded because my mother owns a home just in the next neighborhood not even 2 minutes away and water only got up to the grass.

So My plan was/is to buy a single family house in a nice but inexpensive neighborhood that I used to live in, however my mother in law ( who is a real estate agent) asked me today why don’t I think about buying the vacant lots in my neighborhood instead.

The home has an attached mother in law suite with a septate entrance that can be used as a stand alone 1 bedroom rental.

We bought it for his mother, which rent basically covers the mortgage.
