We just had a tri-plex come up for sale (rare for this area), that needed updates that are in my wheelhouse that was priced fairly, and I'm not able to do anything...I don't like that and I'd like to set myself up to not be in that spot again.

I live in Pleasantville ny, easy commute no matter what route you take (train/car) and our leases for the renovated units in our 6 family a block from the train is: 1900/1 bed, 2400/2Bed, 3500/3 Bed (the other 3 units have long term tenants and are not updated so rents are lower)

I understand then he would be required to intend to live in the property as part of the qualification process for the FHA loan but this would not be a problem since the property is a newly updated multifamily in his neighborhood.

I have told my tenants that I was planning on converting the garage since February, and kept on updating them over the last few months that yes the conversion is indeed happening, this is the date to expect it to start etc.Due to their own personal circumstances, they brought an elderly parent over to the rental unit, along with a bunch of stuff that they are storing in one of my garages (that I will be converting).
