If you're thinking of an Urban Airbnb, I would just be cautious of regulatory nature of big cities as they tend to not care so much for the short term rentals (NYC, Chicago, LA, Vegas, Portland...).

I am finding that given the transient nature of the area and residents, it is difficult to find a local bank finance partner.

Most likely the state where the property is located is where lawsuits would be brought if they are something for personal injury like a trip and fall or something of that nature because the “cause of action” arose in that state.

Most cities and towns have very little ability to further cut expenses, particularly as many of those expenses are contractual in nature.

I have single family units with great tenants and personally have not ran into issues of this nature.
