In my neck of the woods 10 weeks for a permit is a great turn around .

Like the other poster said, you may have to fix some of the work already completed and along with getting any exposed wood treated.

Many people might elect not to rebuild in a community that lacks easy access to shopping and services, or because the limited evacuation routes in a wooded area cause them too much concern about their safety.

We recently remodeled the basement with new carpet, wood flooring for kitchen and dining area, and paint.

Things like wood-rot, or if the bathroom is being renovated, etc. will be flagged for most loan types as things that need to be fixed before closing. 

Remove the dreadful flooring in the kitchen and hopefully there is wood underneath.

We had the original hard wood floors with some damage, but we messed up the floors listening to other people and now we have to replace them.

In my neck of the woods that’s nothing to get excited about .
