You can purchase a single house that costs $100,000 (let’s assume a conservative 3% increase in annual value driven by normal inflation), you can purchase $100,000 in an index fund (let’s assume a reasonable 9% annual return on investment), or you can purchase 5 houses using a $20,000 deposit for each house (we will assume the same conservative 3% increase in value).
