Salvaging it means putting in a bunch more money either by recasting or refinancing with an additional 50k invested or putting the extra cash every month.

I don't know much about properties in those markets.Just know Toledo and the leaky basements during heavy rain but that's kinda normal for us.Nobody spends $20,000 - $30,000 re-doing basements on these older homesGrazie
