from my own experience, foundation issues would show up in other areas as well, like walls, especially around windows and doorways, as well as outside walls. do you like the property enough to get it under contract and inspected?

It's much safer to invest in areas outside Interstate 465, minus areas such as Lawrence which is a beast different from any other.If you want to attract good renters buy in good school districts too.

Also if you do decide to buy outside of your area, you don't have to settle for a completely turnkey investment, while there are definitely advantages to that, if you build a team in the area you can truly take down any strategy you want.
