The problem is land owner continually increase prices due to the demand, sometimes to much.

I bout a hoarder house that everyone said should be a tear down but we put $20,000 into it and it's as solid as a rock and we gained $120,000 in equity whereas a complete replacement would have cost $150,000 and not gained us a dime in equity. in infill areas and I suspect this one in Dallas is one of those.. the value is new construction.. and the homes value is land minus demo costs. that's what gets most sellers..

I was wondering how to get started with a career in real estate in the NYC/ Long Island area.

Looking to dialoguge on this topic so let me begin by saying this; I do not believe that we should have an open border, however in a country where we enjoy the melting pot status, where Ellis Island brought in the ancestors of some of our finest citizens, where none of us originated here, and also where we brought in millions against their will(slavery), I think it only fitting that we work to make a way that people from south of the border can come here and enjoy the fruits of this nation just like those who came from Europe, Asia and elsewhere.

About a year ago, my sister and brother in-law just walked away from their house on Long Island, NY (Suffolk County).

Next week I add Ecuador (galopogos Islands) and in Oct I have a Danube River cruise that visits 8 countries, and 7 will be new; Bosnia,Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Slovakia.

Say padre island, Corpus Christi...etc....just looking for nice weather and possibly a good deal..I've been to the west coast.....Arizona....Las Vegas....and now Forida.

Turks & Caicos, and island chain 35 miles south of Bahamas and 500 miles East of Miami doesn't have any of the aforementioned four taxes.

Further, if you're up in Rhode Island, you presumably won't even have to go into the rough area yourself, so what's the concern?
