If they don't seem like they know what they're talking about either, PM me, & I can hook you up with a lender that specializes in VA loans with an office in Phoenix, but I'm pretty sure he's licensed for CA, as well or my Nova  guy here in Tucson can work with your Nova loan officer in CA and help guide them through the process.  

I've opted to just let him stay through the term of his lease.My question is for any other landlords out there about how and when to tell him I won't be renewing his lease.

I'd like to buy a small home in LA where I can stay when I'm there but rent through Airbnb when I'm not to subsidize the mortgage.  

The financial partner can feel confident when the person providing the TK property stays on in the deal...and doesn't just dump it and run.  

It should work with the caveat that you stay away from the standard tiles that are made of pressed cardboard or whatever it is.

I would rent out the house as roommates -- you just choose to stay in your level of the house while they stay in their level.  

Thankfully all are insured but any advice the BP Community can offer to guide us in getting ourselves organized would be a great help.

I'd recommend starting with single families, you'll have stable tenants who will hopefully stay there long term.3.
