I imagine covid is going to accelerate that trend seeing as places like California want to remain shut down forever. 

Gold as a currency was shut down, not paper backed by gold, but actual gold as a currency. 

He currently owes more than $1000 in water bills, including a $500 fee for turning his own water back on after the city shut him off due to non-payment and a bad check.

I used to do that and really changed my strategy after remodeling the same houses the second time within 10 years... then you see what held up and what didn't.My favorite example: the cheap shut off valve that ruined an entire new kitchen.. 

However, not always as we have seen during COVID where entire cities shut it down.Personally, I'm not a big fan of HOAs due to the lack of control and the exit.

In fact, these average people that shut you down might just mean that there is less competition.

They get shut down and a cease and desist like these guys did.

Does the guy at the gas or electric company lose sleep over you not paying your bill and having to shut off the services ?
