HOA’s & STR Investing

If you purchase a condo that is affiliated with an HOA will you not be allowed to utilize it as a STR? Or will it depend on the regulations that the HOA has? I know that properties that have HOAS associated with them can be pretty strict with the regulations that they have in place and what they allow in regards to renting out the property.

If you're in a vacation market the entire building will be built for STR and the HOA will be in your favor. If you're in Cleveland it might not be a good idea. Easy way to check is see if there are a bunch of other units in the building on vrbo. then give the hoa a call!
