When it involved outside partners I used a very reputable law firm and spent a lot of money to make sure everything was perfect and without question for the future of operations. 

This isn't an expense to your business so you still pay taxes on it (either you already have or you will in 2016) but it is perfectly fine to take a distribution from your LLC.

Sure, with perfect 20/20 hindsight investing, huge returns are easy.  

Nothing like the perfect applicant that needs to wait 4 months and has 3 animals.

Just reviewed, I know that being the bearer of bad news is not popular, but that was the question posed, the good news is that much of this, not all, can be managed or limited, but most have not taken the extra time nor effort to perfect.

It's never going to happen.Just wondering if you can get away with dropping it after a certain time period.

Of course, you have to add a contingency because no project is going to go perfectly as planned.
