Just like all very rich dont drive prius's and dress up in shabby clothing.. 

We're also welcoming our first baby in January so we have a pretty similar journey to you and your family. 

I prefer to dress casual for meetings although most of the time I am in work cloths. 

We also have other factors like the suburb baby boomers empty nesters are not selling and moving to more traditional retirement locations.

Once inside I could barely see anything as she had no lights on or bulbs and the windows were covered with black sheets, what strick me immediately though was the washing machine in center of the living room with no drainage, water was just running out on the wooden floor, the place was hot and stinky, she had no furniture of note just clothe in the corner of every room, the bathroom sink was stained with purple dye which was the color of her hair.

When your average person approaches a bank to borrow $1M+, etc to buy an apartment building, in the bank's eyes-the person is "ugly" at that point and you are like the "emperor with no clothes" if you will.  

Don't get me wrong- I have good contractors and all, but they're not the ones who get shafted if this baby doesn't stay humming.

Anyway, As I rubbed the cob webs out of eyes every day and hurried out the door with my baby on my hip, I made it to work by 7:00 a.m.

My theory is that the wild swings are the baby boomers in a panic mode over their impending retirement and the wild swings in economic decisions they have made are being reflected in their political decisions as well.
