Inspectors may not be trained to calculate loads, size lumber and fasteners etc. . however, they better be able to read plans (and if wood was retrofitted, its not going to be like the plans anymore).

Unfortunately, I can see where the wood is rotten (from the carpet tacks) and where it was moist but even after tearing apart the walls I was unable to locate where the water is coming from.
